What happens when you combine precision platforming, a gloomy dystopian wasteland, and the chaotic physics of a giant rolling golf ball controlled by a crew of tiny tots? You get Raw Fury’s wildest gamescom reveal yet—a co-op adventure that is as brilliant as it is beautifully bizarre.

Quick Facts

Developer: Brainwash Gang
Publisher: Raw Fury
Genre: Cooperative 2D Physics Platformer / Golfing Adventure
Platforms: PC (Steam) — Console ports TBA
Release Date: Late 2026 (TBA)
Featured Event: Gamescom ’26 (World Premiere)

Known for their delightfully strange, genre-bending portfolio (such as Laika: Aged Through Blood and Friends vs Friends), Spanish developer Brainwash Gang has done it again. In their latest reveal, Bye Bye Bonnie, you are thrown into a gorgeous, hand-drawn dystopian wasteland. But you are not just walking through this melancholic post-apocalyptic world. Instead, you play as tiny tots who reside inside a giant, sentient, rolling talking skull-ball named Bonnie.

Your ultimate goal? Conquer deadly dungeons, rescue lost siblings, help bizarre NPCs, and, most importantly, ascend and climb The Tower to find your missing mother, who is waiting at the very top. To do this, you must control Bonnie using unique, golf-inspired physics. Rather than directly moving the character, the players crew the inside of the skull, pulling levers, pushing diegetic buttons, and operating gears to roll, bounce, and launch this giant bone-ball through highly complex, hazardous 2D environments.

Gamescom Impressions: The Ultimate Test of Communication

We had the chance to go hands-on with a playtest build of Bye Bye Bonnie on the Gamescom ’26 show floor, and it is safe to say that this is co-op madness at its absolute best. The game supports local and online co-op for up to four players. Working as a crew inside a giant rolling ball of bone is an absolute riot. One player might control the jump-levers, another the forward momentum, while others handle steering or specialized skills.

Every move requires flawless synchronization and coordination. While the hand-drawn, cartoonish aesthetic looks incredibly cute and whimsical, the underlying physics puzzles are delightfully challenging. It is a game built entirely around cooperation. While you can, in theory, play Bye Bye Bonnie as a single-player experience, doing so is almost overwhelmingly complex. Trying to manage all the levers, buttons, and momentum entirely on your own turns the physics-based platforming into an extreme mental gymnastic workout. To get the most fun—and actually survive—you definitely want to bring a friend.

Customizing Your Skull & Overcoming The Tower

As you progress through the wasteland and climb higher up The Tower, the challenges become progressively tougher. To survive, players can gather resources to upgrade Bonnie. These skull upgrades introduce new physics-defying abilities, heavier weights, or more powerful launches, keeping the traversal loop incredibly fresh and exciting.

While the game is currently slated as a Steam-exclusive release on PC, its couch-friendly layout makes it a prime candidate for consoles down the road. For now, PC players can look forward to a planned release late in 2026.

Our Verdict: A Bizarrely Brilliant Couch Co-Op Gem

With Bye Bye Bonnie, Brainwash Gang and Raw Fury have crafted a co-op experience that feels genuinely unique. It takes the frantic coordination of games like Overcooked, mixes it with golf-style precision platforming, and wraps it in a melancholic yet charming post-apocalyptic narrative. If you are looking for a game to test your friendship and your reflexes, this rolling skull-adventure is an absolute must-wishlist. Just make sure to grab a partner—you will need all the hands you can get to reach the top of The Tower!
